'Tis the season for holiday cards December 2, 2019 Alice Fischer I get a lot of requests for Christmas card photo sessions. The Furlow family was so much fun to photograph! They brought their German Shepard puppy and I brought out all of my props. Of course, if family photography were as simple as picking up a camera and shouting ‘say cheese!’, we’d all be doing it. But it’s not; there’s a ton of little intricacies to it. If you let your kids be themselves, special moments are sure to happen. Many classic Christmas family photo ideas include dressing in your holiday best and retreating to a lovely spot outdoors. I don't worry about everyone facing the camera. I just relax and capture all the candid moments. A black and white photo will forever be a classic to display in your home. Togetherness is everything! I try to capture a family at their favorite place, just hanging out in the park, for a natural sense of their happy lives together. I suggest families wear outfits in the same color family, like denim, neutrals or fantastic holiday plaid, for a cohesive feel to the photos. I like to capture the sweet moments by focusing on the children, not the camera. These two cuties will “jingle all the way!”
