// The Baughman Wedding //
I had first met Joy and Mike at a venue open house in Deltona in January of 2019. Upon meeting them I was so humbled because Joy had recognized me from seeing some of my work from Bridle Oaks. I learned that they had met at the Barn in Sanford. I commented on how much I loved her tattoo and she shared with me that she wanted her bouquet to look like it too. It all sounded so beautiful, and I loved the happy-spring vibe that she had shared for the vision for her day. Soon after the event we connected and discovered that we were going to make a great match! I was ecstatic, but nothing could have prepared us for what what was to come.
This was our first wedding captured since the pandemic had really gone into full swing and while we didn’t know necessarily what to expect, we were eager to capture Joy and Mike’s much anticipated day and love that they share for one another.
Aside from sharing these precious moments that we had the opportunity of capturing for Joy and Michael’s special day I also want to share with you a “Q and A” with Joy. In this blog we we talk of their wedding planning experience and how they helped make their special day a dream come true during a global pandemic.

How did COVID-19 affect your wedding?
COVID-19 affected our wedding because we had to reschedule our wedding date from April 25th to July 18th. This was really heartbreaking at first because we felt so close to our wedding and in March had to postpone it. I cried for a day or two over it and finally came to terms that it was out of my control. After that it was just a matter of contacting all of the vendors and making sure everyone was comfortable working around the public in a close setting.
Q. How did you communicate to your guests about the change in your wedding date?
We were able to tell a lot of guests via text or phone call about the date being changed, but we also made a private Facebook event page to share with anyone else who needed to know.
Would you have changed anything?
Absolutely not!! Everything who helped make our special day was amazing. The vendors were all so sweet to us making sure everything was beautiful and perfect. Along with all the compliments throughout the night. We felt so loved!
What were you most excited about come wedding day?
That’s a hard one! I think wearing my dress which I loved so much and feeling so special was very exciting. But also spending time and celebrating our marriage with our love ones and being married to my best friend was amazing. <3
Any advice/tips to couples currently planning their wedding during COVID-19?
Be patient and understanding with your vendors if you have any issues! Know that some people may not be able to come to your wedding because of the virus. It’s ok though because it’s your special day with your new husband/wife and that is all that matters!
What were you looking forward to most after the wedding?
Our amazing week long honeymoon in Crystal River, FL! We got to relax together, take the boat out and go scalloping, and swim in the pool at the house we rented. It was the best vacation ever. 💕
Special thanks to Joy for contributing her experience.
This Q&A blog goes out to all brides and grooms-to-be who are waiting for their special day to arrive during this time.
